Terms of Service

Effective date: [DATE]

Version: [VERSION]

These terms are an agreement between you and us about using Rhystic Tavern, the app for iPhone and the website at rhystictavern.com. Please read them. By creating an account or using Rhystic Tavern, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Rhystic Tavern.

1. Who we are

Rhystic Tavern is provided by Rhystic Tavern, [ADDRESS] [CONFIRM]. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Rhystic Tavern. "You" means the person using Rhystic Tavern.

2. Who can use Rhystic Tavern

You must be at least 16 years old.

You cannot use Rhystic Tavern if we have banned you.

You must follow the laws that apply to you.

3. Your account

Give us a real email address that you can check.

Keep your password, authenticator and recovery codes safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account.

Tell us at warden@support.rhystictavern.com if you think someone else got into your account.

One person per account. Do not sell, share or transfer your account.

Your username must be 2 to 18 characters, start with a letter, and use only letters, numbers and underscores. No offensive language. Some names are reserved, such as admin, wizards and rhystic. Do not pretend to be someone else.

4. Your content

Your content means what you add to Rhystic Tavern: your Vault, decks, brews, collections, games, profile, bio, comments, messages, suggestions and reports.

You own your content. We do not claim ownership of it.

You give us permission to use it to run Rhystic Tavern. That means we can store it, copy it, show it and send it to the people you choose, in the ways the app works. For example, a public deck appears on your profile and in Explore, and a message goes to the people in that chat. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for the reasons in our Privacy Policy. [CONFIRM: license wording with a lawyer]

You control who sees it. Your Vault and collections are private. Decks stay private until you share them. You choose who can see each brew, and whether your profile is public or private.

Only post what you have the right to post.

5. Rules for using Rhystic Tavern

Do not:

Harass, bully or threaten anyone.

Post hate speech or slurs.

Post sexual content.

Spam, including repeated messages, comments or suggestions.

Pretend to be another person, or pretend to be Rhystic Tavern or Wizards of the Coast.

Use offensive usernames, deck names, brew names or bios. Magic slang and light swearing are fine in names and bios. Slurs and hate are not.

Break the law, or help someone else break it.

Try to get into accounts, data or systems that are not yours.

Scrape, copy in bulk, or overload our servers, or use bots or scripts to use the app.

Get around limits, such as free limits, spark limits or blocks.

Copy, change or take apart the app's code, except where the law allows it.

Aether rules. Do not abuse Aether. Do not try to make it produce harmful, hateful or sexual content. Do not try to get around spark limits, send automated requests, or try to make it reveal how it works behind the scenes. Do not use Aether to write content about other people that breaks these rules.

6. Moderation

We check names, bios, comments and messages for banned words when they are saved.

You can report a profile, deck, brew, comment or message. We review reports.

We do not read messages as a routine. We look only at content someone reports. [CONFIRM: whether a report shows us the text of the reported message]

If content or an account breaks these terms, we can hide or remove content, clear a bio, rename a username, deck or brew, make content private, warn you, suspend your account for a period of time, or ban it. We usually email you when we rename your username or suspend or ban your account.

We decide what breaks the rules. We may act without a report.

You can block people. Blocked people cannot send you direct messages, and you do not get notifications from them.

If you think we made a mistake, write to warden@support.rhystictavern.com. [CONFIRM: how we handle requests to look again]

7. Mythic and sparks

Free accounts see ads. Ads come from an outside ad provider [CONFIRM: name of the ad provider]. Our Privacy Policy explains what the ad provider receives [CONFIRM: what data, whether ads are personalized, and whether the app asks your permission to track]. Mythic is an optional paid subscription. It removes ads, removes the limits on decks and brews, keeps a longer game history, and includes sparks to use with Aether.

Billing. Mythic is sold and billed by Apple through your Apple ID. Apple's terms apply to your purchase. We use RevenueCat, a subscription service, to check your subscription status. You see the price in the app before you buy. [CONFIRM: whether Mythic can be bought outside the iPhone app]

Renewal. Mythic renews automatically until you cancel.

Cancel. Cancel at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings. Apple's rules decide when a cancellation takes effect. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel your subscription.

Trials. If a free trial is offered, Apple's rules apply to it. [CONFIRM: whether a trial exists]

Refunds. Refunds follow Apple's rules. Apple handles refund requests, not us.

When Mythic ends. Items over the free limits become read-only for 90 days so you have time to export them. [CONFIRM: what happens after 90 days]

Sparks. Sparks are how you use Aether. Mythic includes new sparks each month. Monthly sparks do not carry over to the next month. If we offer a store for sparks, sparks you buy there do not expire, and the app uses your monthly sparks first. Sparks have no cash value. You cannot sell, trade, transfer or exchange them for money. [CONFIRM: what happens to sparks when Mythic ends]

Changes. We may change what Mythic includes or how many sparks it includes. If a change affects your subscription, we will tell you before it applies.

8. Aether suggestions

Aether uses AI to suggest changes to your decks, brews and Vault.

Aether can be wrong. Check the card text before you change a deck or settle a question.

Aether suggestions are not official rulings. They do not come from Wizards of the Coast or any judge program.

You decide what to change. You are responsible for how you use a suggestion.

Price trends from Aether are estimates, not financial advice.

9. Card data, prices and no affiliation

Card data and prices come from Scryfall. Prices are estimates. We do not guarantee them. They are not financial advice. Check a store for final prices. 11. Disclaimers

Rhystic Tavern is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will always work, be free of errors, or keep your data safe from every loss. Keep your own copy of anything important, for example by exporting your cards.

12. Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows:

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or lost games.

Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Mythic in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. [CONFIRM: wording with a lawyer]

13. Ending your account

You can stop using Rhystic Tavern at any time and delete your account in Account Security. You have 30 days to restore it.

We can suspend or end your account if you break these terms, or if the law requires it.

Sections 4 (the part about copies we must keep), 7 (sparks), 8, 9, 11, 12 and 14 still apply after your account ends.

15. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update the effective date and version at the top. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. [CONFIRM: notice method] If you keep using Rhystic Tavern after a change takes effect, you agree to the new terms.
